Cardiac monitoring is a noninvasive diagnostic tool that uses a small portable device to monitor and record a patient’s cardiac activity, heartbeat rhythms, and heart rate.

Cardiac monitors are helpful in detecting and recording abnormal heart rhythms that may not be daily and allow for little interference in the patient’s normal day.
 
The patient can transmit a signal on several monitor types when experiencing a symptom so that the event can be correlated to that specific rhythm.

Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT): 93229, 93228

The Mobile Cardiac Telemetry (MCT) Monitor is typically worn by the patient for 3-7 days but up to 30 days. Data is transmitted to Videre through the Gateway box while the patient is wearing it either when the rhythms are significantly abnormal or when the patient presses the button on the monitor.

This data is monitored by Videre during the days, evenings, and weekends. If there is a significant abnormality the ordering physician will be notified. MCT can pull data while the patient is wearing a monitor for certain periods of time either before or after an event or episode. It provides bidirectional communication between the monitor and the software.

Once the patient returns the monitor, the office staff will transmit the data to Videre. The monitor is scanned thoroughly to make sure all the abnormal rhythms are documented in case the patient did not hit the button during an event. Videre will generate a report within 24-48 hours and provide the report to the ordering physician.

Event Monitor: 93268

The 3-7 Day Long Term Holter Monitor provides continuous recording of cardiac rhythms while the patient wears the monitor. Videre receives the data when the office staff transmits the data from their office after the patient has returned the monitor. Videre will generate a report within 24-48 hours and provide the report to the ordering physician.

The 24-48 Hour Holter Monitor provides continuous recording of cardiac rhythms while the patient wears the monitor. Videre receives the data only when the office staff transmits the data from their office after the patient has returned the monitor. Videre will generate a report within 24-48 hours and provide the report to the ordering physician.
