Insight Imaging employs only the most experienced, highly credentialed diagnostic medical sonographers in the country. These professionals are not only experienced (proven by the many years of practice each sonographer has in each ultrasound modality), but they are also credentialed through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS®), an independent, nonprofit organization that administers examinations and awards credentials in the areas of Diagnostic Medical Sonography®, Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography® and Vascular Technology®. The ARDMS® certification provides assurance that a sonographer has obtained the full range of knowledge and skill competencies needed for maintaining the highest standards in ultrasound practice. In addition to meeting specific education and experience requirements, sonographers must pass two ARDMS® examinations for each registry or specialty – one covering the basic principles and instrumentation of ultrasound and the other covering a specialty area specific to cardiac, general, vascular or other specialty imaging.

What makes Insight’s Sonographers truly unique is that they hold multiple ARDMS® registries. Over 50 percent of our Sonographers hold three or more credentials with the ARDMS®. Nationally, only 3.7 percent of ARDMS® registrants (or approximately 1.0 percent of all Sonographers nationally) hold all three credentials. Over 90 percent of Insight’s Sonographers hold two or more registries. Nationally, only 23 percent of ARDMS® registrants (or approximately 6.0 percent of all Sonographers nationally) hold two plus registries. As an operator-dependent imaging modality, the skill and experience of the Sonographer is vital to delivering high quality exams to patients and providers.
